PILATES CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
FEE-BASED CLASSES
Class reservations are required.Reserve your appointment at Member Services or with an instructor. Space is limited to five participants for Reformer classes and six for Pilates Body/Combo classes.
Please note the designated levels of Reformer classes. Fee-based classes are included in any other small group programming packages in Pilates. Reservations are required 24 hours in advance.
Additional class times may be considered. Please express any interest with an instructor. A minimum of four participants are required to create a group class.
Advanced Mat with Reformer
Traditional advanced rhythmic mat followed by advanced exercises on the reformer. Flow, sweat and work the body in all planes and directions for optimal strength and stretch. This is a challenging mat class that follows the order as Joseph Pilates laid out.
Pre-requisite: Knowledge of advanced mat, or high skill level on other Pilates equipment. For healthy serious Pilates enthusiasts.

Jump & Stretch
This challenging cardio-based Pilates group class will increase your heart rate while you stretch and strengthen your muscles. Focus is on high-intensity interval training and core stability. No previous Pilates experience necessary.
Pilates Body/Combo Classes
In all Pilates Body/Combo classes, the entire body is always worked in balance, through the Powerhouse, per Pilates' ideologies. All Combo classes utilize various Pilates apparatus, such as the Chair, Ped-O-Pull, Barrels (spine corrector and ladder barrel), Tower Units and other apparatus, for a unique and challenging small group Pilates experience.
Pilates Burn
An intense Pilates workout designed for you to feel the burn as you create results. This dynamic exercise program will leave you sculpted and strong, feeling the burn in your arms, abs, and tush.
Pilates Mat Fusion
This class follows the traditional floor sequence originated by Joseph Pilates with variations utilizing props to intensify movements, ensure alignment, work the trunk and core effectively and for safety. Work from floor and progress to standing sequences for functional application developing the three C’s: core, coordination and control.
PurFit Pilates
A cardio/strength interval class that will improve endurance, increase core strength and coordination, and maximize calorie burning-all while focusing on correct body alignment and jumping technique. This high-energy class is best suited for students who are injury-free, and in good condition. No prior Pilates experience necessary.

Reformer I
This is the Pura Vida foundational class with Reformer, Mat and Cadillac apparatus as well as other auxiliary, like Barrels, to build technique and progress in coordination, strength, flexibility and strength. Overall posture and body mechanics will improve. Pilates I reinforces technique learned in private sessions and classes. What is learned can readily apply to any form of exercise or class at Pura Vida. Reformer I participation is required before entry into higher level Reformer or Apparatus classes to ensure progression and technique. Class is limited to five participants.

Reformer II
This dynamic flowing intermediate Reformer class follows a consistent sequence building endurance and strength as well as balance, coordination and mental stamina. It’s like taking a vigorous walk leaving you fresh and ready for what meets the day. Auxiliary exercises may be included at the end of class for additional challenge, alignment, variety and fun. Builds on knowledge learned in private sessions and Reformer I. Class is limited to five participants.
Prerequisite: Approval upon evaluation by Pilates instructor. Confidence and a solid knowledge base of Reformer I is required for safety and maintaining class level for optimal results.

Reformer III
This advanced Reformer class challenges the entire body, twisting, bending, breathing and moving in all directions. Stretching, toning and aligning the body and mind, it elevates your spirit but, this class is only for those who are long-term Pilates enthusiasts. Auxiliary exercises can be included at the end of class for additional challenge, alignment, variety and fun. Builds on knowledge learned in private sessions and Reformer II classes. Class is limited to five participants.

COMPLIMENTARY STUDIO PROGRAMMING
Pilates Mat Fusion

Pilates Open Gym
Designed for results, pure and simple. It’s for the dedicated individual who wants the benefits of doing Pilates, the ultimate in a mind-body-spirit system. Pilates called his method Contrology indicating a regime of control requiring concentration and focus. In Open Gym you pull your program, which has been learned previously, and execute it while being coached and supported. Open Gym has a maximum of 12 members at one time working out together, building camaraderie and personal fitness. Equipment availability is based on a first come, first serve basis. An instructor rotates the room providing feedback, teaching new exercises and assisting in safety and equipment set up. This program is for member only, exclusively offered at Pura Vida. Reservations required.
PurFit Pilates
A cardio/strength interval class that will improve endurance, increase core strength and coordination, and maximize calorie burning-all while focusing on correct body alignment and jumping technique. This high-energy class is best suited for students who are injury-free, and in good condition. No prior Pilates experience necessary. All equipment used per instructors’ discretion. Reservations required at least 90 minutes in advance either by phone or in person. Class is limited to 10 participants.
